I trust you're all well and happy and wildly anticipating your Thanksgiving holiday.

I found this wonderful site while looking for some old photos to copy and use for CD labels for a gift for my brother.
I went to N.N.H.S. for a very short time around "66-67" and really couldn't honestly have a favorite teacher. The photos
of old NN downtown and North End were a trip back to my childhood - thank you so much!! I don't know of any other
group like yours, so I request to receive your news letter if that's ok. I don't have a site nor how to set one up, or what
to do with one, but maybe I can share a photo or two and maybe a story or two. I grew up between 37th St. and 52nd,
living on 37th, 38th, 45th, 49th, and 51st at different times, between 1958 and 1967. Anybody remember Creasy's Drug
Store, or Joe Milan's on the corner across from Stonewall Jackson? (penny candy ring a bell?) Thanks for the memories,
hope to be included in your mailing list and to be able to help support this noble and important work. I made a trip back
to my old "stomping grounds" in 1991. I was devastated, angered, and left with an empty feeling inside...as if someone had
ripped a hole in me, and taken part of me away. All of the places I lived but one were gone without a trace. I've never felt
anything like that, nor do I want to. Contact me, you may remember my mom, Mrs. Fortune. She used to walk me to school
from 1st grade through 7th and some beyond!! She wore a long coat, usually black, carried a paper bag under her arm, and
wore a scarf or kerchief on her head everywhere. We shopped at the old Colonial Stores, both of them. We lived on 45th St.
right next door to the old apartments that joined each other, right across the street from the Salvation Army Church.
Mr. Mooney was a neighbor!! I don't know that we would have known each other but we walked the same streets, went to the
same places, and reading the stories was nice. It was like being home once more.
Please, someone give me a shout. I may have gone to school with your sis or brother. This is great. I'm sorry for using so
much space here, but I didn't know how else to do this...thanks

Hey, Carl! It's good to hear from you - welcome to our incredibly diverse group!

As I told you in my note, the North End kids are a vocal bunch, and by invoking the Mooney name alone - let alone the places you
mentioned - I'm sure you'll be receiving a great deal of feedback. We look forward to hearing more from you soon.

Hi.....is everything ok???? haven't heard from you in a couple days......just want to make sure you're ok.

Let me put it this way. We found out this week that my husband's beloved uncle has terminal pancreatic cancer. By the time
I heard that painful news, I was already so numb from all the other problems and issues of the last several days, I haven't even
been able to sufficiently process that information or begin to mourn.

Thank you for your love and concern, Janice. It means a great deal to me. How many hundreds and thousands of years have
we been friends now???

Regarding the newsletters, I do know that they'd take a great deal of time if all you did was to simply write an email. Add the
wonderful graphics and all else that goes with it, and I can assure YOU that all will agree with me>>>>it's worth the wait!

What a magnificent product you continue to present to us. Within some private communications, I have "razzed" you a bit
about a "nearly complete letter" as you, well known by me, worked diligently to bring pleasure into our lives with yet another
"masterpiece". I sincerely Thank YOU, Carol Darlin'!

What a pleasant surprise it was to hear from Sherry Mitchum (school name)!! Now, how she could think that such a totally
nice person such as I (can't speak for Steve) would ever do such a thing as pour water from my apartment windows onto people
below, escapes me! Next thing you know, I'll be accused of nailing folks with "Water Balloons" from atop of the Shipyard
Apartments!! Has the statute of limitations expired for such activity, as if I needed it?

Oh yes, 58th Street beach! Remember it well and Sherry and I think, Connie Todd, would pay an occasional visit (trying to get
a glimpse of Joe Mooney!)!! It was a fun place to be in the summer of our youth. Once you got the "BA's" to understand that you
were not one to be "messed with" North End was a really nice place within which to "grow up". Sarah (Puckett Kressaty - '65
- of VA) and I have shared some North End and Jackson stories. Yes, indeed, many an hour was spent on 58th Street beach
and I remember you, Sherry, being there...it no longer exists. Now, it's the "North Yard".

Sherry, it was indeed a pleasure to hear from you!! Thanks for the memories. Because of the threats I received from others
regarding "hogging" the site and email newsletters, there are numerous as yet to be shared North End stories, maybe one day I'll... .

Now that Carol Darlin' has published THAT PICTURE, you can clearly see why my last line of defense: "Yeah, but I was a beautiful
baby", has been totally shattered!! I now have nothing upon which to fall back; such is life.

Wayne Honey, you can "hog" the site all you want! I'm always delighted to hear from you. Happy, positive thoughts are never
wasted, but bless the lives of all those who read them.

For those of you who have just joined us, for various silly reasons, Joe Madagan ('57) of FL is now called "Adonis", Tom Norris
(HHS - '73) is "the Babe", Wayne Stokes ('65) of VA is "Wayne Honey", Sarah Puckett Kressaty ('65) of VA is "Sarah Sugar",
Rip Collins ('65) of TN is once again "Precious", and I have become "Carol Darlin'" (which beats the "Buckwheat" which Janice
began calling me in 1959 at Walter Reed, and which endures to this day). That's just the way it is. Hmmm, now that I think about it,
several others of y'all have some fun nicknames as well. If you're feeling excluded by all our nonsense, just let me know, and I'll be
more than happy to publish them. GIGGLES!!!

For those who might need further clarification....the video from the 40th reunion will be in both DVD and VHS...I am having what
we hope to be our last edit on Monday 11-22-04 and should receive all masters soon after Thanksgiving. Then we will ready
to release more information on costs - for each format..

We still urge all readers of the website to order any of the item from the great typhoon family's 40th Reunion of the NNHS Class
of 1964 while supplies last. Check the web page for the details. The school magnets would make great stocking stuffers
for any member of the great big typhoon family - a great memory of the grand old lady on Huntington Avenue, Newport News, VA.

Thanks for everyone's kind words about my fellow classmates on the the 1964 reunion. It was a great experience putting on the
show - very rewarding... Any help I can be to any other class, please let them know..

Oh, that song! I dunno who sang it. It's still driving me nuts. I still cannot think of any lyrics, so I cannot think of who it might have
been, or when, or what musical genre it might be, or anything. But, boy-howdy, I have that tune down pat now! It spends a lot of time
floating through what's left of my mind. My offer still stands. If you think you might be able to help, send me your phone number and I'll
call you up and hum you the tune. If you correctly identify it, I'll send you a hand-crafted prize.

Where do you get those beautiful songs? Always lovely to read your newsletters. You are a treasure, dear lady, and don't
forget it! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Are you going traveling or are you cooking and having folks in? We are going
to friends and I am making yeast rolls, cranberry salad, and pecan pie. My daughter is living with us at the present time
but is working at a restaurant and will be busy most of the day. We will be in NN for Christmas and hopefully both of the kids
will be able to join us.

Thanks, Jean! I'm glad you enjoy the music. The songs usually flow out of my shower head in the morning along with the water.
Then it's usually a fairly simple matter to Google them until I find an arrangement that I like.

(By the way, for those of you who do NOT like the music, it's an even simpler matter to either turn down the volume on the speakers
or disable that function altogether. I'm keeping the songs as an option for those of you who do appreciate them. See? On some rare occasions, I really can be all things to all people!)

You have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too, Jean! Ours will be quite simple this year. We're not going anywhere, and nobody's coming
here. Most of our children will be having a huge potluck feast in Joliet with son #2, Brent, and his family. They will no doubt call here
and say happy things like, "Hey, Mom, if you moved back to Illinois where you belong, you could be here with all your children and grandchildren!" And I will mumble something and change the subject...

We thought about inviting people who were also not going to be able to join their families to share dinner with us, but we left it up
to Adrienne, and she elected to keep it just the three of us. So we'll be having just a mini-feast instead of the massive layouts to which
we are accustomed. I'll bake a ham, some cornbread, a green bean casserole, and pecan and pumpkin pies, and some other things.

We'll be having company in two weeks, so I'll bake a turkey breast and dressing, oatmeal yeast rolls, sweet potato soufflé, cherry and
apple pies, and a buncha other stuff then. So I suppose we'll have our feast after all - just spread over a two-week period.

Never stop your excellent work! I have no problem reading those things that are of no personal interest to me, because I know
that they are of interest to others and that I am also NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE. I'm not as bad a person as I once
thought! Thanks!

......If I have not already said so, I really enjoy the newsletter. Some of the topics have no meaning to me and I skip ahead...
Anyway, you should not have to put yourself through that for every newsletter......

Thanks, David. I tried to make them more interesting and more convenient for everyone. I hope that I was successful to some
extent, at least. Your continued encouragement and tremendous contributions to the pages have been an enormous help to me.

I for one like Carol's newsletter exactly like it is. Most of the people who write in to it are totally unknown
to me, but I still find lots of their comments and news of interest since they are part of the NNHS family.
If I don't find it of interest, I skim over the item.......

Carol's efforts are primarily for the Class of '65. Being from the Class of '59, I consider it a privilege to be
included. If I depended on my "do-nothing" class getting together and doing something, I would never have
news of NNHS, except through a couple of classmates I'm in touch with.......

Thanks so much, Ronnie. Your words - all of them - meant a great deal to me, and I deeply appreciate them.

.... With no benefit to yourself, you have given an untold number of hours making people happy,
warming their hearts, and bringing them together with friends they have not seen or heard from
in forty years. But for your caring and hard work, they most likely would have never been reunited.

Personally, if there is something I'm not interested in, I click it and move on.
