From Me ('65) of NC:
|
My one and only daughter,
Adrienne Harty of NC, had two back-to-back major
events in her life this week. On
11/16/05, she received her
Young Woman Recognition Award.
This is roughly equivalent to receiving the rank of Eagle Scout as her six
older brothers had done before her. She had worked diligently for the
past six years to attain this award, so we're all quite happy for her.
The very next day, she was given a makeover for part of a class
demonstration that night, and looks like a new woman. |

Meet Miss Mermaid, my first

From Dale Mueller ('64) of VA:
Thought you might be
interested in a couple of pictures taken yesterday during the charity
golf tournament for Dale Lucado ('68 - of VA). The weather was perfect and
there was
a great turnout for the tournament. We shot 5 under par but I am not sure what
place
we came in as we all had to leave prior to the awards presentation.
WOWZERONI! That is just fabulous! You gentlemen are all looking fabulous, too!

From Renee Helterbran Benton ('59) of VA:
Hi, Carol
The Alzheimer's Memory Walk was held in Gloucester last
Saturday, the 17th of September.
Once again, the ever faithful Jesse Kersey ('58) and Bobby Turpin ('58) came
and walked
with the Benton Bunch Team in honor of Julius ('58). The Benton Bunch
Team raised
over half of the donations contributed for the Gloucester Memory
Walk; daughter, Kristi, was
the top individual fundraiser and daughter, Julie, came in 3rd. A very
heartfelt thank you
to the NNHS supporters of the Memory Walk on behalf of Julius: John ('59) &
Aretie Gallins
Patterson ('59),
Jesse Kersey ('58), Bobby Turpin ('58), George Coussoulos ('58), Joe Drewry
('58), Evelyn Fryer Fish ('58), Bob ('56) & JoAnn Scott ('58) Fowler,
Russell ('59) & Ann Gary,
Janet ('54) & Buddy Nagele, and Keith & Rhetta Phelps Wright ('59). I hope I
didn't leave
out anyone. And, a very special thank you to Kathy, who made sure this cancer
survivor finished
the 3 mile walk.

From Chandler Nelms (Hampton HS - '63) of MD:
My most “famous” Marine…..but not
really famous, is my son, Chad. He’s 35 and a pilot, and is making
the Marine Corps a career. Although a pilot, he has had two tours in Iraq on the
ground in the infantry (this
after a tour flying in the Afghan war). Temporarily assigned to the 11th Marine
Expeditionary Unit (MEU),
he went in with them as the Air Liaison Officer for his unit in the invasion of
Iraq. Then after being home
six months, he returned to Iraq and participated in the battle for Najaf and
then again in the battle for Fallujah.
For his role in Najaf, he was recently awarded the Bronze Star......
OK, here’s a photo of my son Chad
(Major Chandler S. Nelms, USMC) receiving the Bronze Star.
He’s the tall good looking one, of course.

you our newest member of the Family!

He was 8 lbs., 2 oz. (not bad for 10 days early) and was 20 1/2 inches long.

Just wanted you
to see my baby, since all my children are grown. She is quite a ham and not
spoiled much. My granddaughter is 13 so I have no babies anymore.
Just keep waiting. I still
have a single daughter and a now-single mom, so I just wait. :-)
OHHH,
Brenda! She's so precious, she scarcely looks real! I'll take
your word for it that she is - how adorable!!!
Thanks so much! What happy pictures!

Would it be appropriate to post our
new granddaughter's photo?
We're so proud of Kaia Grace Wynne and
waited a long time for her to come.
She was born August 16, 2005 to our older son Mitchell and his wife Kira.
I'll trust your discretion as to whether or not this is appropriate,
just couldn't resist sharing.
My
goodness, yes, Nancy! We share family photos all of the time -
especially of new grandbabies!!! What an
incredibly beautiful baby girl - with an equally beautiful name to match!
Thanks so much for thinking of us!
